School Holidays 2025/2026: When students will rest in Ukraine and how the training schedule will change

Traditionally, the school year should last at least 175 academic days and end until July 1, as stated in part three of Article 10 of the Law of Ukraine on full secondary education. However, this provision is stopped at the moment, and the terms of the educational process are determined by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

The Cabinet resolution of July 23, 2024 No. 841 established that the 2024/2025 academic year continues from September 2, 2024 to June 30, 2025.

Ago, School year 2025/2026 will probably begin on September 1, 2025 and will end on June 30 2026. But under the current legislation, educational institutions have the right to independence in the formation of the educational process. The pedagogical council of each school or other educational institution can determine independently:

• structure and duration of the school year;
• schedule of educational week;
• duration of the school day;
• schedule of classes and breaks;
• Forms of learning organization.

Give a holiday in the 2025/2026 academic year

Since schools have autonomy in determining the structure of the school year, the holiday schedule may vary depending on the region and a specific educational institution. However, given the past academic years, you can determine approximate holiday dates:

• Autumn vacations – approximately from October 27 to November 2, 2025;
• Winter holidays – approximately from December 27, 2025 to January 11, 2026;
• Spring holidays – approximately from March 23 to March 29, 2026;
• Summer vacations – approximately from June 1 to August 31, 2026.

The flexibility of a graphic vacation at school

It is important to note that in the 2024/2025 academic year, students of all classes, except for graduation, complete their studies at the end of May, that is, they actually have 155 academic days.

A similar practice can be applied next year. Education institutions can change the structure of the educational process, which means possible adjustments to the duration of vacations. Due to the martial law of the school can:

• to prolong winter holidays in the event of a crush risk;
• change the duration of spring and autumn vacations;
• Conduct additional training days in June.
