Scholtz in conversation with Zelensky confirmed unchanged and unwavering solidarity with Ukraine

German Chancellor, Olaf Scholtz, has confirmed unchanged and unwavering solidarity with Ukraine. This was reported by the Government press service following the results of a telephone conversation with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

He assured that Germany would continue to support Ukraine in close coordination with European and international partners to reach a fair, comprehensive and prolonged peace.

The parties have agreed that in future peace talks in Ukraine, Ukraine should be at the table and European security issues should be discussed with Europeans.

This conversation occurred against the background of tension between Trump and Zelensky, which in recent days exchanged sharp criticism. Trump called Zelensky a “dictator” and suggested that he began a war with Russia-comments that caused anxiety in Ukraine and Europe and caused a negative reaction from some high-ranking US republican legislators.
