SBU: detained two 14-year-olds who detonated explosives in Kyiv region on the order of the Russian Federation

The Security Service and the National Police detained two 14-year-old boys who are accused of detonating an improvised explosive device. On November 28, an improvised explosive device was detonated near the building of the local district police department in the Vyshgorod district of Kyiv region, according to a December 3 SBU report.

According to the security guards, 14-year-old residents of the community were remotely recruited by the Russian special services through Telegram channels in search of quick earnings.

“To commit the crime, the young men used explosives, which were disguised as a thermos and were lying in a cache in the Kyiv region. According to the instructions of the occupiers, in order to increase the impressive effect of the explosion, the perpetrators filled the explosive device with nuts and bolts. “Next to the administration building, where the explosion was supposed to take place, the attackers secretly installed a mobile phone to broadcast the explosion in real time,” the report said.

The SBU noted that during the searches, mobile phones and other evidence of activities in favor of the aggressor country were seized from them. The suspects face up to 12 years in prison for committing a particularly serious crime.

Earlier, RFE/RL’s investigative project “Schemy” found that Russian special services are massively using minor Ukrainians to set fire to the cars of the Armed Forces and TCC buildings as part of a disinformation campaign of the Russian Federation, the purpose of which is to show that there is an active underground in Ukraine, which in this way opposes general mobilization.
