Samsung integrates Perplexity’s artificial intelligence into their devices

Yevgeny Demkivsky Author of news Mezha.media and GIK. I write about technologies, cinema and games. Perhaps about games with a little more passion.

Samsung is close to the conclusion of a large -scale agreement with Perplexity AI, which involves the integration of the startup search functions into the company’s ecosystem. As reports Bloomberg, the parties discuss the preliminary application and voice assistant to Perplexity on future smartphones, as well as embedded in the Samsung browser and, potentially virtual BIXBY assistant.

The company plans to announce integration this year, and one of the first devices with a new assistant can be Galaxy S26 – its release is expected in the first half of 2026. Negotiations are ongoing and the final parts have not yet been approved.

Perplexity AI is an American startup that offers an alternative to a traditional web search by generating answers to users in a chatbot format. The company is actively developing: its technologies are already using millions of users, and recently it has made a partnership with Motorola. Perplexity is currently negotiating an investment round with Samsung at $ 500 million, which can estimate a company of $ 14 billion.

The deal will help Samsung reduce Google dependence by repeating Apple approach, which is also looking for alternatives for Siri. Earlier, Apple confirmed that it is negotiating with Perplexity, but it is unclear how a potential partnership with Samsung will affect these plans.

The parties also discuss the creation of a separate OS with artificial intelligence functions and the application of AI agents, which will be able to combine the possibilities of Perplexity and other assistants.
