Rutte said on the X social network (Twitter) that he discussed with Stubb the ongoing investigation under the leadership of Finland into the possible sabotage of submarine cables.

“I expressed my full solidarity and support. NATO will strengthen its military presence in the Baltic Sea,” Rütte said.

It will be recalled that the Finnish police are investigating whether a vessel from the Russian “shadow fleet” is involved to damage the electric cable, which runs between Finland and Estonia.

In general, as reported in Finland, work interruptions were detected four telecommunication cables in the Baltic Sea, which connect the country with Estonia and Germany. About three of them earlier informed in Estonia.

Estonia decided withdraw patrol ships to protect the energy connection with Finland.
