Recent reports indicate a significant escalation in military engagements in Ukraine, with 158 clashes reported over the past day. The Russian armed forces have intensified their operations particularly in the Pokrovsk and Hulyaipole directions, resulting in substantial casualties.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russian forces launched two missile strikes and conducted 80 airstrikes, deploying 241 guided bombs. Additionally, they utilized 8,613 kamikaze drones and executed 3,604 shelling attacks on Ukrainian positions and civilian areas, including 63 strikes from multiple rocket launch systems.
Targeted areas included several settlements in Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions, such as Havyliivka, Velykomykhailivka, and Ivankivka, as well as locations in Kherson Oblast like Olhivka.
In response, Ukrainian forces targeted eight areas where Russian troops were concentrated, hitting three command points, five artillery systems, a munitions depot, and another significant military site. The cumulative losses for the Russian military on February 28 amounted to 870 personnel, along with the destruction of two tanks, six armored combat vehicles, 58 artillery systems, one multiple rocket launcher, three air defense systems, and 1,722 operational-tactical drones.
Frontline Situation Overview
In the Northeastern and Kursk Directions, Russian forces conducted two airstrikes, dropping five guided bombs, and fired upon Ukrainian positions and civilian areas 138 times, including two attacks using multiple rocket launch systems.
In the Southern Slobozhansky Direction, the Russian military launched seven assaults on Ukrainian positions near Pokrovka, Prylipka, Vovchanski Khutory, Chuhunivka, and towards Zybyn.
In the Kupiansk Direction, five attacks were reported, with Ukrainian defenders successfully repelling assaults near Kindrashivka, Pishchane, Hlushkivka, Kurylivka, and Borivska Andriivka.
In the Lyman Direction, Russian forces attempted to advance six times towards Novoyehorivka, Stavky, Lyman, and Drobysheve.
In the Sloviansk Direction, Ukrainian defenders thwarted seven Russian attempts to advance towards Rai-Oleksandrivka and in the areas of Yampil, Riznykivka, Zakitne, and Dronivka.
In the Kramatorsk Direction, no offensive actions were reported from Russian forces.
In the Kostiantynivka Direction, seven attacks were recorded near Pleschiivka, Ivanopillia, Illinivka, Stepanivka, and towards Novopavlivka.
In the Pokrovsk Direction, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled 25 attacks in areas including Toretske, Nova Shakhovka, Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Udačne, Kotlyne, Molodetske, and towards Novooleksandrivka, Hryshyne, and Novopidhorodne.
In the Oleksandrivka Direction, Russian forces launched seven attacks on Ukrainian positions in the areas of Sichneve, Kalynivske, and Ternove.
In the Hulyaipole Direction, the Russian military attempted to advance 45 times on Ukrainian defensive positions in the vicinity of Hulyaipole, Myrne, and towards Staroukrainka, Zelenyi, Dobropillia, Pryliuk, Zaliznychnyi, Sviatopetrivka, and Varvarivka.
In the Orikhiv and Dnipro Directions, no offensive actions were recorded from Russian forces.
In the Volyn and Polissya Directions, there were no signs of the formation of offensive groupings.
