In a recent incident in the Zaporizhzhia region, Russian military forces attacked an emergency evacuation vehicle using FPV drones while it was transporting an elderly couple from a frontline village. The attack, confirmed by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES), involved two drones that detonated near the vehicle, rendering it inoperable.
The evacuation team was escorting a 71-year-old woman and her 70-year-old husband, along with three SES personnel. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported as a result of the drone strikes. The evacuees were subsequently transported to Zaporizhzhia in a different service vehicle.
“This incident once again demonstrates the cynicism of the Russian forces: they strike even at evacuation vehicles carrying rescuers and civilians,” stated a representative from the SES. “Despite the constant danger, our rescue officers continue their work, evacuating people from frontline areas and saving lives.”
