According to him, the Russian military “use sabotage and intelligence groups. The Kupyan direction remains the most difficult.”
“From the north of the city (Kupianska – ed.) there was an attempt to enter the DRG, bypass our Defense Forces. There is currently fighting going on there. We will announce the results later,” Synegubov said.
He noted that more than 350 shelling of Ukrainian military positions, 16 aerial bombs and 25 shelling from aircraft took place along the contact line.
“Our soldiers are in extremely difficult conditions. In the north of the Kharkiv region, the situation is more stable than in the Kupyan region,” added the head of the OVA.
Also, according to him, there were attempts to enter Kozacha Lopan by Russian DRGs.
“There were attempts by the enemy to enter in different directions, they are probing different directions and positions. The task of our soldiers when attempts are detected is to quickly oppose and destroy the enemy. Dergachivskyi, Zolochivskyi, Kharkiv directions, Liptsi, Vovchansk – such attempts are constantly taking place,” Sinegubov said.
Earlier there were reports that a small number of Russian troops were able to enter Kupyansk, but the Strategic Communications Center of the Ukrainian Armed Forces refuted them, noting that the city is completely under the control of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, and Ukrainian soldiers stopped the enemy’s advance on Kupyansk.
At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russian forces were already occupying Kupyansk. But in September 2022, the city was liberated from Russian troops.
Currently, in the Kharkiv region, hostilities continue in two directions – in the north of the region and in the Kupyansk region.
At the end of October, the head of the Kupyan city military administration, Andriy Besedin, said on Espresso that Russian troops were 2.5-3 kilometers away from the city.
