“The incident was recorded by surveillance cameras, and we also conducted a preliminary inspection at the pier. Official contact was established with the border representation of the Russian Federation to obtain an explanation,” said Eerik Purgel, head of the Border Bureau of the Eastern Prefecture.
He noted that Eastern Prefecture has also increased the number of patrols to be ready to respond to further incidents.
Therefore, a meeting of representatives of border services is scheduled for Thursday, December 18, at which Estonia expects explanations from the Russian Federation regarding the border crossing.
And the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia, in turn, summoned the temporary charge d’affaires of Russia.
We will remind:
- On November 2, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia announced that on the Narva River a Russian border boat was spotted under the banner of the Russian PVC “Wagner”.
- According to Foreign Minister Margus Tsakhna, this spectacle confirms the fact that the “iron” system of Russia gives cracks under the influence of the war of aggression started by it and ongoing pressure from the West.
