Russia: the head of the Kursk region announced a new attack on Lgov

On December 30, Acting Governor of the Kursk Oblast Oleksandr Khinshtein announced a rocket attack on the city of Lhov.

According to him, the city was allegedly attacked by the Ukrainian army, a two-story building was damaged. He stated about a woman who suffered shrapnel injuries. Hinstein also added that the shelling caused “minor fires” that have already been extinguished.

At the moment, the Ukrainian command has not commented on the statement about the attack on the Kursk region.

On December 25, the Armed Forces reported an attack on the location of the command post of the Russian 810th separate brigade of marines, which was located in an abandoned civilian building in the settlement of Lgovy. The Russian authorities announced the dead and wounded.

Lhov is a city in the Kursk region with a population of almost 17,000 people, located near the border with Ukraine. Civilians were not evacuated from this settlement.

After the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, Russian regions and Russian-occupied territories of Ukraine regularly come under shelling and drone attacks. The Russian Ministry of Defense reports on downed missiles and drones. Kyiv mostly does not comment on these messages.
