Russia is charging aircraft to Crimea, exposing other directions – the Navy of Ukraine

To preserve control over occupied Crimea, Russia saturates the peninsula systems of air defense systems, exposing other directions. The air defense density in Crimea is higher than in many regions in the Russian Federation, Colonel Dmitry Pletenchuk, a representative of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces, said.

“Crimea is a symbolic and logistic value for Russia. The density of air defense on the island is higher than in many regions of the Russian Federation itself. Due to the sanctions and lack of microelectronics, the Russians are limited to replenishment of losses, ”Pletenchuk said on the Ukrainian national telecommunication.

According to him, since the beginning of 2024, the Ukrainian forces have destroyed a significant number of Air Defense, the Black Sea Fleet Staff and other objects. Despite the loss, the Russian Federation continues to run drones from the Crimea.

“These are mobile installations that can be moved, but mostly they use proven locations,” the Navy representative added.

Since 2022, the territory of the peninsula is almost daily attacked by drones and missiles, in most cases the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation or the Russian authorities do not confirm the hit on military facilities, even if this information is able to verify.

The leader of the Majlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov urged the inhabitants of Crimea to take care of their safety in connection with the increase of blows of the Armed Forces on Russian military facilities on the peninsula, recommending to move from them.
