The British ambassador to the OSCE emphasized that Ukrainians are going through incredible difficulties. “Russian airstrikes devastated cities, destroyed homes and left critical infrastructure in ruins, including hospitals, schools and energy facilities. The destruction of essential services limited millions of people’s access to heat, electricity, clean water and medical care. And in the case of children, it was serious the educational process is disrupted,” said Holland.
He pointed out that over the past month, Russia has intensified its airstrikes, primarily on energy infrastructure facilities, which has led to widespread power outages in several regions. “Yesterday’s attacks are the latest in a series of similar attacks. With winter approaching and temperatures plummeting, this additional strain on the power system is deeply concerning and will disproportionately affect vulnerable populations, including the elderly and infirm. The attacks on residential areas are also causing massive destruction,” – Holland stated.
He reminded that in search of safety, 14 million Ukrainians – almost a third of the population – left their homes since February 2022.

Humanitarian organizations must be given safe and unhindered access to deliver aid and relief the urgent needs of the Ukrainian population throughout the country,” the British ambassador to the OSCE emphasized.
Holland assured that Great Britain remains committed to supporting Ukraine, documenting human rights violations and bringing to justice those guilty of violating international law.
“The suffering in Ukraine cannot be ignored. It is our collective responsibility to take decisive action to alleviate this humanitarian crisis and work for a future in which a just and lasting peace is possible,” he added.
As reported by Ukrinform, Russia launched a combined mass attack on Ukraine in the morning of November 28, before that Ukrainian cities were attacked by enemy drones throughout the night. Energy infrastructure was hit in several regions.
