“The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation re-announced the search for the founder of the “Russian Volunteer Corps” Denys Kapustin after the statements of the Ukrainian intelligence about his staged death”, — write: www.radiosvoboda.org
“Reason for the search: wanted under the article of the Criminal Code […]. It has been re-announced,” reads the card on the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.
Kapustin first appeared at the base of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in 2023. In Russia, he was sentenced in absentia to a life term in the case of the invasion of the Armed Forces of the Bryansk region – for treason and terrorism.
On December 27, the RDK itself announced the death of Kapustin. On January 1, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine stated that the report about the death of the commander was a “special operation”, and in fact Kapustin is alive.
The agency said that the Russian special services ordered Kapustin’s murder and allocated $500,000 for it, but Ukrainian intelligence was able to save his life. On January 2, the GUR published fabricated video footage that was provided to Russian special services as confirmation of the murder.
“Russian Volunteer Corps” is an armed formation that fights on the side of Ukraine and consists mainly of Russian citizens. According to the statements of the RDK fighters, their goal is to “liberate their land from Putin’s regime.” In Russia, the RDK is recognized as a terrorist organization.
