Russia fined the Crimean for the “discredited army of the Russian Federation” in the hospital ward

The Kirov District Court in the Occupied Crimea, fined a man for 30 thousand rubles for allegedly discrediting the Russian army during the period when the defendant was in the ward of a local district hospital. This was reported with reference to the court press service by Radio Liberty Crimea.

“On May 28, 2025, the offender, while in the chamber of a local district hospital, publicly expressed dissatisfaction with a special military operation by the Russian Federation in the territory of Ukraine,” the court reads.

As they added in court, the man did not admit his guilt. His name and surname are not called, and the public position on this case is not voiced.

As of the beginning of June, 1382 cases were recorded in the occupied Crimea under the article on “discrediting” of the Russian army. The materials were submitted to the Russian -controlled courts or other authorities of the peninsula, the representation of the President of Ukraine in the ARC reported.

Earlier, the European Court of Human Rights found Russia guilty of systematic suppression of freedom of speech and persecution for criticism of war against Ukraine. The ECtHR separately stressed that all the “sentences” of Russian courts in Crimea are illegal.
