“The Russians cannot conquer all Ukraine, and it is obvious that Ukraine will be very difficult at any reasonable period of time to force the Russians to return to where they were in 2014,” the State Secretary said.
He added that in future negotiations with Moscow it is necessary to determine that it is Russia who is ready to concede, because “we do not know how much they (the parties. – Ed.) Are actually far apart.”
Speaking of suspension of military assistance to Ukraine, Rubio said that this issue will be discussed with Ukraine, and the US position may change against it if they believe that Kiev is seriously configured to peace.
“I can assure you: we will not provide military assistance to the Russians,” Rubio also said.
We will remind, on March 11 in the Saudi city of Jedda, negotiations between representatives of Ukraine and the US – the first after the altercation between the presidents of both countries in the White House.
According to the media, Ukraine will offer the US a plan of temporary ceasefire in the air and at sea, as well as blows on the objects of energy and civilian infrastructure.
Earlier, Trump’s messenger Steve Witcoff said the United States is expecting considerable progress in negotiations with Ukraine this week.
