Details: As Rubio noted, for the first time in a very long time, technical military groups from Ukraine and Russia are meeting in a format that also includes US representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.

“I don’t want to say that negotiations in themselves are progress, but it’s good that there is interaction. I would also like to warn everyone that there are many delicate points in issues like this. Progress will probably not be known even through leaks until we really achieve a breakthrough. Our goal is to remain committed to the cause. We have dedicated a year to this. We believe that we have made real progress,” he said.
According to Rubio, the good news is that the “list of unresolved issues” that existed between Ukraine and the Russian Federation has “reduced significantly”.
“That’s the good news. The bad news is that the questions that remain are the most difficult. Meanwhile, the war continues. So all I can say about that is that we are putting a significant amount of time and energy into this at a very high level. We will continue to do everything in our power to make a breakthrough,” he added.
It should be noted that the tripartite negotiations in the United Arab Emirates are taking place after Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine. In connection with the new shelling, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi announced on Tuesday about the “correction” of the work of the Ukrainian team at the negotiations.
It was reported that the continuation of negotiations is planned on Thursday, February 5.
And the Ukrainian delegation is preparing a report to Zelensky based on the results of the first day of negotiations, which ended on February 4.
