“Obviously, what happens tomorrow will be key to this,” the State Department head added, referring to negotiations with the Ukrainian side on Tuesday.
Rubio also commented on the ceasefire prospects in Ukraine, noting the Ukrainian proposal for a truce in the air and at sea.
“I’m not saying that this is enough, but this is the act that you have to go to to put an end to the conflict,” he said.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio flew to Jedda on March 10 to participate in bilateral negotiations with Ukrainian officials, headed by Andrey Yermak. National Security Advisor Mike Voltz and Trump’s Messenger Steve Witcoff is expected to join Rubio.
Earlier, Vitcoff stated that the United States is expecting significant progress in negotiations with Ukraine this week.
