Speaking of the pace of Optimus production, Musk said that Tesla seeks to get enough details for production of 10-12 thousand robots Optimus this year. Tesla also plans to significantly increase the topics of Optimus production in 2026 and release 50 thousand units.

“This year we hope that we will be able to make about 5,000 Optimus robots. Technically, we strive to have enough details to make 10,000, perhaps 12,000, but since it is a brand new product in which everything is completely new, I will say that we will succeed if we make half of 10 thousand. But even 5,000 robots are the size of the Roman Legion, to your attention, and it scares a little. … I think we will literally create a legion, at least one legion of robots this year, and then perhaps 10 legions next year, ”Musk said.

Recall Tesla announced Optimus during its event AI Day in 2021. At that time, Tesla had just a layout of work. By 2022, Tesla had a working prototype of work. Since then, Optimus has developed and improved, but current work abilities have not been amazed.
