According to the latter, forensic digital evidence shows that a Louvre security guard was in contact with the alleged criminals before the robbery. It is believed that the robbers were given confidential information about the museum’s security system before the attack.

More than a hundred detectives are involved in the investigation of the crime. Earlier, the director of the Louvre, Loras de Carles, told a committee of the French Senate that no security cameras were monitoring the second-floor balcony from where the thieves gained access to the museum.
After the robbery, some jewels transported to the Bank of France, where they are kept together with the country’s gold reserves in a huge vault at a depth of more than 27 meters.
The prosecutor’s office said that more than 150 DNA samples were found in the museum, including on clothes left behind by the robbers.
“Obviously, we want to arrest the criminals as quickly as possible to get the jewelry back before the stones are removed and the metal is melted down.”– noted the law enforcement officers.
At the same time, experts are afraid that it is already too late to save the jewelry – the jewelry could have been damaged in time.
