Details: Trump reportedly told reporters Sunday night that he has “no objection” to Republicans working on a bill to impose sanctions on countries that do business with Russia.

Trump said they could accept his proposal to add Iran to the sanctions.
Senator Lindsey Graham and House Representative Brian Fitzpatrick, both Republicans, have authored a bill to impose sanctions on countries that do business with Russia, including buyers of its energy.
When asked if Trump is ready to support the bill, the official replied: “He will sign it. He made it clear last night.”
But the White House will push for specific language that ensures Trump retains control over the sanctions, the official said.
Direct speech: “It has always been important to the White House and the president that there be an exception in the sanctions package that ensures that the president has the final authority to make sanctions decisions.
So if it’s included, I think the president will consider signing the bill.”
The official noted that the White House continues to work on negotiations with Russia to end the war: “We certainly continue to work on it. It just hasn’t been in the news because we have so much going on.”
We will remind:
- Recently, Trump stated that there is progress in the settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
- He also claimed that he would be able to end Russia’s war against Ukraine, as Russia would like to “do business” with the United States.
