According to the Romanian service of Radio Liberty, there was a risk of an explosion, and the consequences could be felt in a village located about 3-4 kilometers away. This is the first case in almost four years of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, when people were evacuated from a Romanian village as a result of Russian attacks.
At the same time, the Ministry of Defense of Romania stated that no unauthorized intrusions of drones into the Romanian airspace were detected.
The Inspectorate for Emergency Situations in Tulchi specified that 15 people have been evacuated so far, the reason being the short distance, about 3-4 kilometers, between the place of the explosion in Ukraine, in the Izmail region, and the village of Plauru.
Earlier today, the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration Oleg Kiper reported that on the night of November 17, the Russian military again massively attacked Odesa with strike drones, as a result of which “consequences for the energy and port infrastructure were recorded.”
According to Kiper, several civilian vessels were damaged during the attack, and one person was injured.
Before that, Russia carried out airstrikes on Ukrainian ports on the Danube on the night of November 10-11, 2025. On November 14, the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned Russian Ambassador Volodymyr Lipaev over the violation of Romanian airspace by a Russian drone during the attack.
Russian drones have repeatedly violated the airspace of countries neighboring Ukraine during Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities.
