Registration of fictitious disabilities: two more prosecutors and two MSEK officials received suspicion

Two prosecutors were notified of suspicion of fraud due to illegal receipt of disability of the II group. Two MSEK officials who facilitated the scheme also received suspicion. This was reported in the Office of the Prosecutor General, reports UNN.

Prosecutors of the General Inspection of the Office of the Prosecutor General during the investigation of the criminal proceedings regarding the facts of illegal receipt of disability groups by officials of the prosecutor’s office at different levels reported the suspicion of fraud to two prosecutors (Part 4 and Part 5 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Also, two officials of medical and social expert commissions were notified of suspicion of official forgery (Part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)

According to the investigation, the head and deputy head of district prosecutor’s offices in various regions of the country illegally obtained the status of persons with disabilities of the II group. As a result, one suspect fraudulently took over UAH 1 million in pension payments, and the other – over UAH 400,000.

It was also established that MSEK officials unjustifiably assigned the second group of disabilities to prosecutors indefinitely.

At the moment, the question of choosing preventive measures for the suspect and removing them from their positions is being resolved.

In addition, it is reported that an official investigation into possible abuses of obtaining disability groups by prosecutors has been completed, the conclusions of which have been attached to the materials of the mentioned criminal proceedings. In the course of its implementation, 5 prosecutors were dismissed from the prosecutor’s office, and another 7 were dismissed from administrative positions.

The Prosecutor General’s Office reported on an official investigation into possible abuses by prosecutors when receiving disability groups. The highest percentage of prosecutors with disability status was found in Cherkasy and Khmelnytskyi regions.

Currently, 831 employees work in the prosecutor’s office of Ukraine, of which 524 have the status of persons with disabilities. The largest number of prosecutors with disabilities work in regional and district prosecutor’s offices – 496.
