Details: According to the document signed by Putin, the alleged “aggression” against the Russian Federation and its allies by a non-nuclear country with the support of a nuclear state will be considered as a joint attack.
The doctrine also states that the Russian Federation can use nuclear weapons in the event of a “critical threat” to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of itself and Belarus.
Among the conditions for the use of nuclear weapons by Russia is the “launch of ballistic missiles” on the territory of Russia.
According to the doctrine, the decision to use nuclear weapons should be made by the Kremlin leader himself.
The document expresses confidence that “the readiness and determination of the Russian Federation to use nuclear weapons will ensure nuclear deterrence.”
The press secretary of the ruler of the Kremlin, Dmytro Pesokov, has already stated that “the use of Western non-nuclear missiles by the Armed Forces of Ukraine against the Russian Federation according to the new doctrine may cause a nuclear response.”
