Already on December 12, it became known that the Defense Forces carried out a successful counterattack near Kupiansk, Kharkiv region, and surrounded the Russian group in the city.
At the same time, Zelenskyi visited the Kupyansk region, recorded a video near the dilapidated stele of the city and congratulated the Ground Forces on their day.
“Today is the Kupyansk direction, our soldiers who are achieving results for Ukraine here. Many Russians talked about Kupyansk – we can see it. I was there, I congratulated the guys. Thank you to every unit, everyone who fights here, everyone who destroys the occupier,” Zelenskyi said.
Putin also began to flaunt the offensive of the Russian occupiers in all directions of the front. According to him, the invaders seem to have captured Siversk, and he also stated about the “unsuccessful” attempts” of the Defense Forces to recapture Pokrovsk.
He also said that he expects “successes” of the Russian invaders on the battle line before the end of the year.
