Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russian leader Volodymyr Putin is pushing Ukraine to a “humanitarian catastrophe.”

“Putin is not showing that he wants to stop the war,” he said at the start of a bilateral meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

Zelensky also thanked Britain for its help, for the fact that “we are not alone in this situation – from the very beginning of the war, but especially now, it is very important.”

The day before, the government allocated 8.4 billion hryvnias from the reserve fund of the state budget for the heating season, the company “Naftogaz of Ukraine” will receive these funds for the purchase of imported natural gas.

The CMU stated that this decision will avoid “interruptions in heat supply, reduce the risks of man-made emergencies, and support the stable operation of the energy system.”
