The journalists found out that the church is located on the territory of the military unit of the GRU in the Moscow region. According to the analysis, it is about the temple of “Great Martyr George the Victorious on the territory of the Special Purpose Center “Senezh” (military unit 92154) in Solnechnogorsk.”

Putin also gave a speech directly in the church immediately after the service: “Very often we call the Lord the savior, because he somehow came to earth in order to save all people. Here are the wars Russia’s wars, they are always, as it were, on God’s behalf perform the same mission – to protect the Motherland and its people, to save the Motherland and its people.”

The commander of the military unit, Oleksiy Galkin, stood closer to Putin than the rest of the military in the video and photo.

It is reported that another participant in the Christmas service in the Russian Federation is probably Andrii Popov. Judging by the sources, he is also a serviceman of military unit 92154, a colonel, a Hero of Russia.

The third – Kostyantyn Maslyanko, colonel, Hero of Russia. According to information sources, in 2017 he worked in military unit 45807 (also GRU). The SBU called him a person who planned a terrorist attack in the center of Kyiv in 2014 and organized an explosion at a military checkpoint near Luhansk in 2015.

Officially, the Kremlin reported that Putin was present at the Christmas service in “one of the churches of George the Victorious in the Moscow suburbs.”

Prior to that, in 2023-2024, the Kremlin reported which churches Putin was visiting.

The Kremlin did not explain why the church in which the ruler of the Russian Federation was present was not named.

The journalists also reported that the last time military unit 92154 was mentioned in the news quite recently – the officer of this unit, Yuriy Syzov, was called the curator of a Ukrainian who was accused of organizing explosions on the railway in Poland.

In February, The Wall Street Journal wrote that the “Senezh” special operations center, which is part of the structure of the Department of Special Tasks of the GRU, deals with sabotage in the West.

Western intelligence considers this unit responsible for parcel explosions at DHL warehouses in Europe and the preparation of an assassination attempt on the CEO of Rheinmetall.
