Flight operations at Pulkovo Airport in St. Petersburg have been curtailed due to a recent drone attack targeting regional officials. The Russian National Guard reported that it successfully neutralized a drone aimed at the governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, during a public meeting.
According to the National Guard, no injuries or damage were reported from the incident. However, the attack has prompted immediate action at Pulkovo Airport, where authorities have implemented restrictions on incoming and outgoing flights.
As a result of these measures, 29 flights have been canceled, and approximately ten aircraft are currently unable to land at the airport. This situation has been confirmed by sources within air traffic control.
Earlier, the governor of the Leningrad region issued a warning regarding potential drone threats in the area. Reports indicate that air defense forces have already intercepted and destroyed ten drones in the region, highlighting ongoing security concerns.
