Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko responded to the claims to the Prosecutor General’s Office regarding the criminal proceedings against Ruslan Magamedrasulov, an employee of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, and his father.

“I see attempts to create hysteria, pressure through public noise, impose one’s own assessments where only the Law should speak. I will say it directly: the prosecutor’s office does not work under pressure. And it won’t be. At the center of this hysteria is a criminal proceeding involving a NABU detective and his father. Many loud statements, many emotions. Few facts,” he wrote in a telegram.

Kravchenko reminded that the criminal proceedings were registered by the Security Service of Ukraine on the basis of the materials collected by operatives, and the prosecutors recognized the evidence collected by the investigators as sufficient for the notification of suspicion, then the investigating judge chose a preventive measure for them – detention.

“5 months of investigation allowed the investigators of the interdepartmental group of the SBU and the SBU to carry out a significant amount of work: to interrogate key witnesses, collect and secure important evidence. As a result, the probability of obstruction of the investigation on the part of the suspects has significantly decreased, which became the basis for the prosecutors to apply to the court for mitigation of the previously chosen preventive measure,” he explained.

The Prosecutor General emphasized that the change of preventive measure is not an excuse for the suspects, the investigation is ongoing.

He also denied reports that the OGP allegedly took the criminal proceedings from the SBU and transferred them to another investigative body.

“There was no decision to change the body of the pre-trial investigation and there will be no decision. The materials are required to assess the state of the pre-trial investigation, as is the case in thousands of other proceedings. Now the materials are being studied and after completion they will be returned to the SBU,” added Kravchenko.

Regarding the agreement with the People’s Deputy from the banned party “OPZZH”, the Prosecutor General noted that it cannot be made public now, as it contains data related to the security of the suspect and issues of national security.

“But I will say one thing clearly: there is no mention of the leadership of anti-corruption bodies in the agreement. It has no connection with the Midas operation. The facts reflected in it took place long before any current events,” he said.

On December 4, the appeals court released Magamedrasulov from custody. Before that, the court released his father Septyabr from custody, placing him under a preventive measure in the form of night house arrest. They were detained for several months.

A high-ranking NABU official and his father were informed of suspicion under the article “assistance to an aggressor state”. The SBU said that they suspect one of the heads of the interregional departments of NABU detectives that during the full-scale war, he and his father were engaged in organizing illegal trade with the Russian Federation.

After Magamedrasulov and his father were released from custody, the head of the Anti-Corruption Center, Vitaly Shabunin, expressed his surprise that people’s deputies did not register the resolution on the release of Prosecutor General Kravchenko, who, according to him, “personally falsified and signed the NABUshnik’s suspicion.”

“Have you seen the posts of a bunch of people’s deputies (who used to be silent) about Magamedrasulov’s release? None – did not register the resolution on Kravchenko’s release. None! The Council benefits from the Prosecutor General, who has sworn to protect deputies from both NABU/SAP and Zelenskyi. This “political logic” of the deputies shakes me: well, NABUshnyk spent five months in the pre-trial detention center, it’s nothing to worry about, the main thing is that Kravchenko promised to clean us up,” he wrote on social networks.
