Details: The day before, NABU Director Semen Krivonos and SAP Head Alexander Klimenko stated that they consider various scenarios of events, including the opening of criminal cases against themselves.
Prehistory:
- The SBU and OGP staff conducted approximately 80 searches in 19 employees of the National Bureau of Investigation in different regions of Ukraine on July 21.
- NABU detectives are charged with treason, illegal trade with Russia, corruption in the interests of the oligarchs. At the same time, the State Bureau of Investigation was intensified with the materials of road accidents several years ago with the participation of NABU staff.
- The next day, the Verkhovna Rada adopted Law No. 12414 “On Amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine on the peculiarities of pre -trial investigation of criminal offenses related to the disappearance of persons in special circumstances in the conditions of martial law”, with the amendments, according to which NABU and SAPs become dependent on the decisions of the General Prosecutor.
- The heads of NABU and SAP Semen Krivonos and Alexander Klimenko called on President Vladimir Zelensky not to sign a document that actually destroys the independence of anti -corruption bodies. However, on the evening of July 22, Zelensky signed the law.
- In many cities of Ukraine, protests have taken place after this legislative initiative was adopted.
