“Possible bribery in the SBU”: the head of the TSK wants to arrange a “direct bet” with the head of the SBU with Vaganyan

The head of the parliamentary temporary investigative commission, People’s Deputy of “Eurosolidarity” Oleksiy Goncharenko, said that he is inviting the director of the State Bureau of Investigation Oleksiy Sukhachev to the meeting of the TSC in order to check his words with the statements of businessman Serhii Vaganyan about the meeting in Vienna.

At the meeting of the TSC on February 9, Vahanyan stated that in April 2022, representatives of the State Security Bureau came to him in Vienna to question Andrii Naumov, the former head of the Main Directorate of Internal Security of the Security Service of Ukraine, regarding corruption.

Vahanyan stated that Sukhachev was in Vienna in person. In response to the UP request, the Bureau noted that their representatives met in Vienna with Vaganyan, at the same time they emphasized that the director of the DBR has never left the territory of Ukraine since the beginning of the large-scale invasion of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine (from 24.02.2022), respectively, he was not in the territory of Austria at the end of April 2022 under the circumstances indicated by Vaganyan.

Honcharenko’s direct speech: “I want to note that there is criminal liability for false testimony at the TSK. Therefore, many questions arise regarding the SBI’s answer to journalists.

Instead, I want to offer a way out.

I invite the director of the DBR Sukhachev and businessman Vaganyan to the next meeting of the TSC, where we will conduct a live cross-examination to understand the situation.”

• Serhiy Vaganyan, who is currently abroad, told in his interview how the system of corruption charges in the SBU allegedly worked during the leadership of Ivan Bakanov and Andriy Naumov, who headed the Main Department of Internal Security of the SBU in 2019-2021.
• The National Anti-corruption Bureau registered a criminal proceeding based on the facts of possible bribery by former high-ranking officials of the Security Service of Ukraine, information about which was disseminated in the media.
