Porsche has introduced an induction charging system for the future electric Cayenne, which is planned for 2026. The technology was shown at the IAA Mobility exhibition in Munich, and it will allow you to charge a car without cables – it is enough to park it over a special stove.

The system consists of two parts: air cooling floor slabs and a plate under a car with liquid cooling. The latter is integrated into the design of the machine at the factory, so to obtain the function it is necessary to order preliminary preparation during production. The stove can also be added later to the dealer.

The 110 kg charging module weighs about 50 kg and operates with a voltage of 240 V and current of 48 A. The system withstands the temperature from –40 to +50 ° C and can provide up to 90% efficiency – about the same amount as the usual level 2. Rain, snow or leaves on the stove, but the stove. The stove can even move a heavy car – it will remain intact.

Parking simplifies Park Assist mode: the car is leveled above the stove, and the pneumatic suspension automatically reduces the distance for optimal energy transmission. Control and settings are integrated into the MyPersche application.

Prices for the United States have not yet been announced, but in Germany the full set will cost about $ 9,500. By the way, Porsche has confirmed that Taycan and Macan already released will not support this technology.
