The former president of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, said that he was again not allowed to go abroad on business trips. According to him, the politician was supposed to meet with the leader of the European People’s Party.
The People’s Deputy noted on his Facebook page that he was not released “on the instructions of the head of the presidential security service.”
“January 16 is a historic day for the entire Ukrainian state. 11 years ago in this hall, the collapse of democracy in Ukraine was put to the vote and voted by hands, which eventually led to the events of the Revolution of Dignity. Those who voted that day are still in this room. The Verkhovna Rada still did not succeed in expelling them from here. The collapse of democracy continues: once again, as the leader of European Solidarity, I was not allowed abroad on the instructions of the head of the president’s security service,” writes the People’s Deputy.
Poroshenko complained to the European Commissioner that he was not allowed abroad. The government called his letter “a manifestation of the highest cynicism”
Poroshenko also accused individual deputies of trying to divert public attention “from their own corruption, greed and theft.”
The politician claims that “just now, thanks to the votes in this hall, they stole 70 billion from the troops.”
On February 14, 2024, Poroshenko announced that the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, did not sign the order on his business trip to participate in the Munich Conference, allegedly due to the warning of the head of the Ukrainian State Government Kyril Budanov about the existence of a threat to the life of the leader of the Eurosolidarity faction.
At the same time, the Verkhovna Rada declared at the time that they had not received statements and relevant documents that would confirm Poroshenko’s intentions to hold meetings within the scope of the business trip, in particular with the EU leadership and world leaders.
At the same time, the HUR responded to NV’s request that intelligence agencies “regularly receive data on potential threats to Ukrainian state and political figures from Russia.”
Poroshenko said that he defended Kyiv on February 24, while “the entire government shuddered”
On December 1, Poroshenko was not allowed abroad to meet with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, despite the fact that he had a business trip signed by the head of the Verkhovna Rada.
Andriy Demchenko, the spokesman of the State Border Service, said at the time that Poroshenko was not allowed to go abroad because of a canceled business trip. Later, Deputy Chairman of the Council Oleksandr Kornienko said that the business trip was canceled after receiving a letter marked For official use, the content of which he cannot disclose.
