Poll: Telegram remains the main source of news for Ukrainians

Details: According to the survey, telegrams are constantly reading 40% of respondents, another 12% do it often-four to five times a week.

In the second place is the popularity – videos on YouTube, which is constantly or often used by 32% of respondents. The following is a Facebook with a 28% indicator, a single news telephony and Viber chats that regularly watch or read 25% of respondents.

At the same time, 3% of those polled read newspapers and magazines regularly, 84% do not use them at all. Radio, regional TV channels and online media-both Ukrainian and international.

It is noted that Telegram is most popular with residents of Kyiv, regional centers and eastern regions, as well as among young people 18-29, people with higher education and wealthy respondents.

Tiktok is more commonly used as a source of news in the western and central regions, among young people and less secured citizens.

Instagram also remains a platform for a younger and more wealthy audience, while Facebook is more commonly chosen by villagers and middle-aged people (30-59 years).

Video on YouTube is viewed relatively more often residents of regional centers as well as more wealthy and educated respondents

Joint Telearaphone “Unified News” has a stable audience among villagers, senior Ukrainians and people with lower education, who also prefer traditional television.

Online media, including Ukrainian national, regional and international publications, are more commonly used by more wealthy and educated respondents as an alternative or additional source of information.

In total, about half of those surveyed view socio-political news daily or several times a day.

The most active are the residents of the Center, the West and Kiev, the older age groups, retirees and people with disabilities, while the least active news consumers remain young and residents of border regions.
