Illustrative photo by news.zerkalo.io - On November 17, Poland opened two border crossing points with Belarus in Kuznytsia and Bobrovnyky, which had not been working for several years.
- Before that, only two out of six checkpoints on the Polish-Belarusian border were functioning, and during the Russian-Belarusian exercises “Zapad-2025” the border was completely closed.
- Currently, the Lithuanian border with Belarus is completely closed. This was Vilnius’s response to the constant raids of weather probes with contraband from Belarus, which paralyze the airport. However, now the Lithuanian government has to look for a solution due to the situation of Lithuanian carriers, which have come under the countermeasures of the Belarusian authorities.

Details: The Kuzyntsi checkpoint was closed for 4 years due to an artificial migration crisis arranged by the regime of Oleksandr Lukashenka, the Bobrovnyky checkpoint was closed for more than 2.5 years in response to the sentencing in Belarus of Andrzej Pochobut, a representative of the Polish community.
The publication notes that checkpoints resumed work after midnight. In Bobrovnyky, even before the opening of the checkpoint, a queue of 4-5 km was formed.
This decision was preceded by lengthy consultations with local authorities and local entrepreneurs, who have long called for the opening of the border and complained of serious negative consequences for the region’s economy.
The checkpoint in Kuznytsia will work only for cars, in Bobrovnyky – for cars, buses and cargo.
