“Regarding the case of ASF in Chernivtsi region. On January 15, 2025, the Dnistrovsky District Department of the Main Department of the State Production and Consumer Service in Chernivtsi region received a message from the hunting ground of the NGO “Bessarabian Hunter” about the discovery of two carcasses of wild pigs approximately 1 km from the border with the Republic of Moldova. – the post says.
Specialists took samples for analysis, which revealed the African swine fever virus. After sampling, the found carcasses of animals were burned.
Therefore, on January 17, 2025, a meeting of the State Emergency Antiepizootic Commission under the Dniester District State Administration was held regarding the case of ASF in wild pigs.

A three-kilometer zone within 5 villages of Sokyryanska and Vashkovets communities was also determined. And the surveillance zone was defined as a 10-kilometer zone, which already included 13 settlements of the Dnistrovsky district.
Also, the commission approved the corresponding Action Plan for the elimination and prevention of ASF disease and imposed quarantine restrictions.
