Peskov: negotiations in Riyadh were technical, their content will not be disclosed

RThe Kremlin Eknyk Dmitry Peskov stated that the meeting of delegations of Russia and the United States, which took place the day before in Riyadh, was technical, so the content of the negotiations would not be made public.

“It is about technical negotiations – with deep immersion in the details, so their content is not exactly subject to disclosure,” Peskov said at a briefing on March 25.

According to him, delegations have already submitted reports to the leadership of their countries, and these materials are currently analyzed. Only then “it will be possible to talk about a certain understanding.”

Earlier, Reuters, citing a source in the White House, wrote that a “positive statement” was expected as a result of Russian-American negotiations. According to two sources of CBS News, the statement was to be published at 10:00 in Kyiv time, but it was not published.

March 24 in Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, US and Russian delegations completed negotiations. They were closed and lasted more than 12 hours. Earlier, the assistant of Russian President Yuriy Ushakov reported that negotiations would be dedicated to the possible renewal of the Black Sea Grain Initiative, which “concerns the safety of shipping in the Black Sea”. The Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that in addition to the restoration of the grain agreement, other “nuances” and “aspects” of the termination of the war will be discussed.

On March 23, the US and Ukraine delegations were also held in Saudi Arabia. According to her, the Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov stated that “the conversation was constructive and meaningful – they discussed key issues, in particular in the energy sphere.” The delegation of Ukraine remains in Riyadh to continue consultations with the American side after the negotiations of US and Russian representatives, said Rada.

The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov, who is in Saudi Arabia, arrived at the scene of the American delegation on March 24. This is the second round of negotiations of representatives of Ukraine and the United States, in the interval between which American managers had a dialogue with a delegation of Russia.

Earlier, after contact with the US side, Kiev accepted Washington’s proposal for ceasefire without prior conditions, and Moscow only supported the moratorium on mutual strikes on energy infrastructure.
