Personnel changes in Ukrenergo: the Ministry of Energy responded to the release of Zaichenko

The Ministry of Energy stated that it did not receive any official documents on changes in the management of the company from the Supervisory Board of Ukrenergo. This is stated in a statement of the department published on September 28.

The statement states that the Ministry of Energy steadily adheres to all the principles of corporate governance and respects the status of the Supervisory Board of Ukrenergo as an independent body, which should act within the framework of Ukrainian legislation.

The Ministry also adds that as a shareholder of the company it operates solely within the law and in the interests of ensuring the stability and energy security of the country.

On September 26, RBC-Ukraine, with reference to its own sources, reported that the Supervisory Board decided to release Vitaliy Zaichenko and the entire board of Ukrenergo, except Alexei Brecht-he will become the acting chairman of the company. This decision was allegedly approved at the Supervisory Board meeting online.

According to RBC-Ukraine, the decision to dismiss Ukrenergo chairman was made in response to the results of the inspection by the National Securities and Stock Market (NCSSMC). The check showed that two members of the board – Ivan Yuryk and Oleg Pavlenko – were appointed in the summer. These violations were not eliminated in time, so the Supervisory Board decided to release not only the board members, but also Zaichenko, to whom they “lost confidence.”
