Details: According to the new rules set out in the two political memorandums that the publication was introduced, Hegset changes the order of channels through which servicemen could sue abuse of management, including harassment and discrimination on racial, gender, sexual or religious. It is emphasized that such changes are implemented simultaneously with the weakening of the rules for the treatment of officers with ordinary staff, with the viewing of the terms “harassment” or “grandfather” within the framework of measures that, according to the minister, “give commanders the powers to ensure compliance with standards without fearing.”

“There are no more unreasonable statements. No anonymous complaints, repeated appeals or quarry blocking. It is enough to walk on the way,” the minister said.

These steps are part of his campaign, aimed at clearing the department from initiatives, which, in his opinion, distract the army from the main mission – war. Earlier, Hegset reduced the pentagon program related to variety and freed a number of high -ranking officials, among which, as the publication notes, there was “disproportionately many dark -skinned and women.” He also initiated physical training reforms, which, according to critics, aimed at displacing women from combat positions – what Hegset insisted for many years.

“If women can withstand it, if not, let it be so,” the minister commented.

The new initiative has caused a sharp criticism of former defense officials and representatives of the Democratic Party in Congress. They claim that these changes have rejected the decades of progress in the fight against sexual harassment and abuse of the Armed Forces.

Former Pentagon Inspector Robert Storch, whom President Donald Trump dismissed in January, said new directives would have a “restraining effect” for those who wanted to report “valuable information about fraud and corruption”.

The Senate Committee on the Armed Forces of Mayzi Hirono accused the Trump administration of “undermining the mechanisms that guarantee accountability and protect our servicemen.”

“The softening of the definitions of the grandfather, harassment and discrimination does not make our army stronger – it undermines trust, makes the victims silence, encourages the abusers,” she added.

An unnamed official in conversation with the publication expressed fear that reducing the number of supervisory mechanisms, although reducing the number of complaints, but at the same time “suppress the possibility of fair feedback about everything – from toxic management to problems with combat readiness at the units level.”

The Hegset Directive also states that raising, retirement or other career capabilities of the officers under investigation should not be blocked, except for “limited cases”.

Prehistory:

  • Last week GEGSET He ordered Hundreds of generals and admirals of the US Armed Forces in the shortest possible time to gather on the basis of Marines in Virginia without explaining the reasons.
  • September 30 Speaking In front of the audience of the top leadership, convened from all over the world without explaining the reasons, Hegset criticized the “fat generals” and initiatives on diversity, which, he said, led to decades of the army’s decades.
  • In addition, Hegset justified his release of flagship officers, among whom were the dark-skinned US general and the Audmiral of the Navy-a broken culture.
