“The cease-fire regime that was established has not been violated by us so far, and we will continue to adhere to it,” he said.
On Friday, November 7, Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif also confirmed the failure of the talks in Istanbul, adding that the ceasefire will continue until there are no attacks from Afghan territory.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, acting as mediator, met with Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif in Baku on Saturday. According to a statement from the Turkish leader’s office, Erdogan expressed hope that the talks would “bring results aimed at achieving lasting stability” and assured that Turkey would continue to play its constructive role in the process.

- On October 15, the parties agreed on temporary ceasefire amid sharp escalation between the two countries. This decision was preceded by airstrikes and ground battles, as a result of which more than a dozen civilians were killed and about 100 were injured.
