Kherson was visited by Howard Buffett, a well-known philanthropist and friend of Ukraine. During the visit, he visited one of our underground hospitals, where patients undergo operations in safe conditions, after which they recover there. Howard talked with them, supported our doctors and patients, saw the difficult conditions in which the medical system of the front-line city works today,” he wrote on Facebook.
According to him, Buffett also talked to the children.
Philanthropist Howard Buffett is not visiting Ukraine for the first time. In June 2025, he presented an art train with photographs he took during Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine.
Last fall, the American actress Angelina Jolie visited Mykolaiv and Kherson.
On November 11, 2022, the Ukrainian military liberated Kherson from Russian occupation. The city, like the right-bank part of the region, was under Russian control from the first days of the full-scale invasion. Kherson was the only regional center captured by the invaders after February 24, 2022.
Currently, Kherson is attacked by Russian drones and artillery every day, and people die.
