On December 20, the Russian invaders carried out a concentrated attack on Kyiv with ballistic missiles, and used the Patriot air defense system to repel the enemy strike.
This was announced by the former spokesman of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yuriy Ignat. On his Facebook page, Ignat noted that “Patriot was working” and “ballistic missiles were shot down.”
“The consequences of an anti-aircraft battle are typical – the fall of downed missiles in the form of fragments of various dimensions, possibly with a warhead. “Patriot shoots down air targets that fly along a ballistic trajectory precisely during the approach to the target in the zone of damage of the anti-aircraft missile complex,” Ignat explained.
The former spokesman of the Armed Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces also emphasized that the consequences of the Russian attack in the capital were caused by the fall of downed missiles, and not by a hit.
“Direct hits from ballistics or cruise missiles lead to completely different results (dire) consequences — Odesa, Kryvyi Rih, Dnipro…”, says Ignat’s post.
Yuriy Ignat also emphasized that everything that was shot down in the sky will surely fall to the ground.
“Therefore, do not ignore ballistics, look for the safest possible places – the “rule of two load-bearing walls”, lower floors, basements, because there is actually no time to run to shelter,” urged the former spokesman of the Air Force.
The rocket attack on Kyiv on December 20 is the main thing
On Friday, December 20, powerful explosions rang out in Kyiv. The Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces warned of high-speed targets on the capital after the aggressor country Russia raised MiG-31K planes into the sky.
The occupiers attacked the Ukrainian capital with ballistics. As a result of the attack, fragments of rockets fell in the Holosiivskyi, Solomyanskyi, Shevchenkivskyi and Dniprovskyi districts of Kyiv, fires broke out, and the heat main was damaged.
The number of victims increased to 11.
Among the injured are men and women aged 19 to 58 with multiple shrapnel wounds and bruises. It is also known about one deceased – the man was 53 years old.
