Ongoing Attacks Persist Despite Easter Ceasefire in Ukraine

As of 16:00 on April 12, Ukrainian military reports indicate that Russian forces have conducted 55 attacks, undermining the so-called Easter ceasefire.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has detailed that border regions are facing significant artillery fire. On Sunday, areas in Sumy Oblast, including Tovstodubove, Iskryskivshchyna, and Bachivsk, have been particularly affected.

In the Northern Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, nine attacks targeted both populated areas and Ukrainian military positions. The Southern Slobozhansky direction saw seven attempts by Russian forces to advance in the regions of Synelnykove, Starytsia, Izbytske, and Vovchansk, with one assault still ongoing.

In the Kupiansk direction, two storming actions were reported near Petropavlivka and Podoliv, with one of these attacks continuing. Ukrainian troops successfully repelled two attempts by the enemy to advance toward Lyman in the Lyman direction.

The Sloviansk direction experienced four attacks directed at Ozerny, Kalynykivka, and Rai-Oleksandrivka. In the Kramatorsk area, there was one attack reported near Markove.

In the Kostiantynivka direction, 11 attacks were recorded near the settlements of Kostiantynivka, Pleshchiyivka, Illinivka, Novopavlivka, and Kucheryv Yar, with one ongoing storming action. The Pokrovsk direction saw 14 attempts by Russian forces to displace Ukrainian troops from their positions in the areas of Bilytske, Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Zatyshok, Hryshyne, Pokrovsk, Udachne, Molodetske, Muravka, and Novopavlivka, with one assault still in progress.

Additionally, in the Oleksandrivka direction, five attacks targeted the settlements of Zelenyi Hai, Oleksandrhrad, Sichneve, Kalynivske, and Verbove. The Hulyaipole direction experienced nine attacks against Ukrainian defenders in the areas of Zaliznychne, Staroukrainka, Myrne, Varvarivka, and Hulyaipole.

Prior to these events, the General Staff reported 2,299 violations of the ceasefire regime that began at 16:00 the previous day.

The Ukrainian military has reported a significant number of attacks by Russian forces on April 12, despite an announced ceasefire. The ongoing hostilities highlight the fragile security situation in the region.
