In the occupied Crimea, human rights activists of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center (KRC) have been recorded since the beginning of this year, more than 700 cases of human rights violations, including detentions, arrests, searches, interrogations, violations of the right to a fair court, said the Verkhovna Rada of Human Rights.

“The Crimea remains the territory of constant and systemic human rights violations. Every day, its inhabitants suffer the pressure, intimidation and restrictions of their basic social, economic and cultural rights, and are victims of persecution, illegal arrests and repression by the occupation forces. Both Ukrainians and Crimean Tatars are violated, ”he said.

The Ombudsman also mentioned that the United Nations International Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (Cescr) recently stressed that Russian armed aggression has caused serious violations of socio-economic and cultural rights in the occupied territories and expressed concern for compulsory withdrawal of private property.

“These facts show how serious there are human rights violations in temporarily occupied territories, and emphasize the need for urgent intervention of the international community to protect Ukrainians. Every day of occupation means new crimes and suffering of people. Therefore, our duty is to speak the truth, to record a violation and to seek punishment for the aggressor, ”Lubinets emphasized.

At the end of September, the CCC announced an increase in the number of Crimeans pursued by the Russian authorities for political reasons from the beginning of the annexation of Crimea. At the moment, according to the calculations of the center, their number reached 447 people, 258 of whom were Crimean Tatars. At the same time, the representation of the President of Ukraine in the ARC reported that according to their data on August 22, 2025, at least 222 people are kept in the annexed of the Russian Federation for lattice for political reasons. Of these, 133 are representatives of the Crimean Tatar people.

In addition, this month human rights activists stated that the persecution of women in Crimea has become a separate policy of the Russian special services.
