In Lviv Oblast, a man injured a serviceman from an alert group with a kitchen tool, the operational command “West” reports.

“Today, another case of brazen aggression against the personnel of the alert group, which acted in accordance with the law and was accompanied by a police officer, occurred in the Lviv region. During the verification of documents, a citizen of Ukraine of mobilization age, trying to avoid identification, attacked and injured a serviceman with an object that previously looked like a kitchen tool of the “axe-hammer” type. The victim has been hospitalized, his life is not in danger,” the message reads.
Law enforcement agencies are conducting investigations.

The “West” command notes that this attack took place less than a week after the tragedy in Lviv, where a serviceman died from a stab wound.

“We are recording a repetition of a dangerous scenario: aggression against the military ceases to be isolated cases and turns into an alarming trend. In two incidents, citizens deliberately ignored legal requirements, tried to avoid identification, and used physical violence,” the command emphasizes.

The formation of a negative attitude towards the TCC and SP, the normalization of evasion, the discrediting of the military and many years of misinformation have become commonplace in social networks and private conversations, and these informational influences create an environment in which aggression against representatives of the Defense Forces is perceived by individual citizens as justified or even “heroic”, the operational command “West” states, calling on citizens to behave responsibly and comply with the legal requirements of the military and law enforcement officers.

In Lviv, on the evening of December 3, a conflict arose between a 30-year-old man from Lviv and military personnel of the TCC during a document check. According to the OGP, the man, whose documents were being checked, stabbed the leg of the military TCC, ATO veteran Yury Bondarenko, who died from the wound in the hospital on the morning of December 4.

On December 5, the Frankiv District Court of Lviv chose a preventive measure for the suspect in the attack – Hryhoriy Kedruk. The court granted the request of the prosecutor’s office and assigned him a preventive measure in the form of detention for 60 days (until January 30 inclusive) without the right to bail.

During the court session, the suspect stated that he did not remember much of the events of the evening of the conflict, while admitting that the knife with which the soldier was wounded belonged to him. When asked by the investigator whether he used a knife during the events of December 3, Kedruk replied: “Judging by the fact that my fingers are cut and what you say, I must have used it.”

The case is being investigated under the article on “deliberate grievous bodily harm caused in connection with the performance of official duties, which caused the death of the victim.”

After the start of the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, martial law was introduced and general mobilization was announced. Reports of scandals and conflicts between TCC employees and citizens on the streets of towns and villages regularly appear in the Ukrainian information space. Negative information about the mobilization spreads quickly through social networks.

The Ukrainian military and government officials claim that this is the result of the informational and psychological operations of the Russian Federation.
