Details: Based on this announcement, Norway, which is already a leader in financing the needs of the Armed Forces, is ready to single-handedly cover half of the total planned funding in December.

“Today, Norway will announce an additional 500 million dollars for the PURL program, which will be provided in two packages – one with Germany and Poland, and one with Germany and the Netherlands,” said Espen Barth Eide.
We will remind, NATO aims to have a monthly funding of 1 billion US dollars. However, the amount of purchases has no upper limit, and in the event of an increase in funding, the Armed Forces will receive more weapons.
Bart Eide explained the sharp increase in donations to PURL with the need to support Ukraine during the so-called “peace negotiations”: “Now is the time to dramatically increase support for Ukraine so that Ukrainians can negotiate from a position of strength.”
He also emphasizes that even if the negotiations are successful, the need to strengthen the Armed Forces will not disappear.
“It is also important to remember that when the war ends, Ukraine must be strong and able to defend itself against the resumption of hostilities,” the head of the Norwegian Foreign Ministry added.
The previous package of purchases of American weapons with the participation of Norway was announced in mid-November, when Northern and Baltic countries allocated another $500 million for such a purchase.
It was also reported that Norway next year wants to allocate 6 billion euros for military support of Ukraine.
