Norad reacted by sending an E-3 aircraft, four F-16 aircraft and four KC-135 planes for identification and interception.
The command noted that Russian military aircraft remained in the international airspace and did not enter the sovereign airspace of the US or Canada.
“Such activity of Russia in the identification zone of Air Alaska is regular and is not considered as a threat,” – the message reads.
In July, the United States of America and Canada raised fighters into the sky after two Russian and two Chinese military aircraft were tracked by international airspace near Alaska.
