According to her, the 18th package of sanctions against the Russian Federation “with further painful restrictions” is being prepared.
“It’s time to increase pressure on Russia to reach a ceasefire,” von der Liaien said.
Zelensky, in turn, congratulated such a step and emphasized the importance of strictly “restricting the Russian tanker fleet, which serves the financing of murders, as well as all the schemes used by Russia to build the military industry.”
“They also discussed the preparation of the 18th EU sanction package. Russian oil, energy infrastructure of energy resources, banks and financial schemes are what is most painful for Russia, and accordingly, the most useful for peace,” he emphasized.
In addition, Zelensky and von Der Lyen discussed the conversation with US President Donald Trump in detail, which took place on May 19.
