Negotiations in Istanbul: Ukraine and the Russian Federation agreed “all” for all two categories of prisoners

According to the results of negotiations in Istanbul, Ukrainian and Russian delegations agreed on the next exchange of “all” for all “seriously wounded and young servicemen.

Details: Umerov noted that Ukraine at the meeting on Monday first saw Russia’s proposals for ceasefire and end of warand Moscow did not provide answers to Ukrainian proposals.

At the same time, the head of the Ministry of Defense said that the parties in the issue of release of prisoners of war have agreed to “focus on specific categories, not on numbers.”

“We have agreed to exchange” all “for seriously wounded and seriously ill -made prisoners of war. The second category is young soldiers who are 18 to 25 years old.

GUR representative Vadim Skibitsky said that in Istanbul managed to reach agreements on a specific exchange mechanism:

According to him, it will be necessary to make many verifications, to determine all categories, so that no one is lost or forget.

Umerov also confirmed that Ukraine has submitted to Russia a list of several hundred Ukrainian children who were deported to the Russian Federation and expects Moscow’s actions in this direction.

Another item on the agenda was the organization of a meeting at the level of leaders with the possible involvement of other leaders, such as US President.

“We believe that further work between delegations makes sense if it is aimed at preparing a meeting of leaders. We suggested that the Russian side meet at the level of the leaders by the end of this month – from June 20 to June 30. This is very important for the negotiation process,” Umerov added.

• The meeting between delegations of Ukraine and the Russian Federation, which lasted just over an hour, became the second since May 16.
• Before negotiating with the Russians, the First Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Kislytsia and a member of the Ukrainian delegation, Alexander Bevz met with representatives of European partners of Ukraine – Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom.
