The Alliance stated that new resources will provide “intelligence, observation, and reconnaissance platforms, as well as at least one Fragat of Air Defense.”

A NATO spokesman stated that they would not specify the details about what countries provide additional resources.

New resources will strengthen the NATO Baltic Sentry mission, started in January in response to a number of incidents that damaged energy cables, telecommunications lines and gas pipelines at the bottom of the Baltic Sea.

NATO countries have launched frigates, patrols and naval drones as part of a mission to protect critically important infrastructure.

In addition, in September, the Alliance launched the EASTERN SENTRY mission, which should strengthen the defense of Europe’s eastern flank after reports of Russian drones in Poland airspace.

NATO warned Russia that they were ready to use “all the necessary military and non -military means” to protect their allies.

That preceded: The Denmark Ministry has reported new cases of unknown drones near the country’s military facilities. The incidents occurred on the evening of September 26.

Prehistory:

  • On the night of September 25, unknown UAVs flew again over the territory of Denmark – in particular near military facilities. Because of them, the Olborg Airport in the north of Denmark was suspended.
  • The government considers a new UAV incident over Dania a hybrid attack, which aims primarily psychological impact, and that something like that will be repeated.
  • Before that late on the evening of September 22, “mysterious” drones blocked the operation of Copenhagen and Oslo airports for several hours. Danish Prime Minister Frederixen called these events “a serious attack on the critical infrastructure of Denmark”, and did not exclude that Russia could be involved.
