Details: The Arctic Sentry mission will coordinate the growing military presence of NATO’s European allies in the region, and in particular military exercises such as Denmark’s Operation Arctic Endurance in Greenland.

NATO began planning the draft mission after US President Donald Trump and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte held talks in Davos in January amid the crisis over Greenland caused by the US leader’s insistence on control of the island.
Rutte and Trump agreed that NATO would play a bigger role in protecting the Arctic, while Denmark, the US and Greenland would hold further talks on Greenland.
Earlier, British Defense Minister John Gealy said that the British armed forces will play vital role in NATO’s Arctic Sentinel mission.
In January, European NATO member states announced that send their military to Greenland to plan an upcoming military mission.
